Connie's Cornucopia:  Chocolate Strawberries for Valentine's Day

Thinking about what to give your Spouse for Valentine’s Day. We have a great idea. We have Georgia Grown Organic Strawberries dipped in chocolate. Two wonderful combinations.
We have a Mix that consists of Milk, Dark, & White Chocolate and also them separately if you like just one kind of Chocolate.

These will be ready to pick up or have delivered on Monday, February 10th (evening).

You can also add one of our Scented Soy Candles, Soaps, Skin Care Products, bath/shower bombs, lip balms, Deodorants, Teas, Coffees, & So much more.

WHERE ARE THE VEGGIES? Dripping Springs Garden and other produce growers are not able to sell this week. This is a time when even hoop-house growing slows down for awhile. But we will let you know as soon as there’s produce available again.

EGGS? No eggs this week.

A&A Orchard has apples available as well as local cider and apple cider vinegar. Apples marked “seconds” are on sale: 8lbs for $16 and are wonderful for baking, applesauce, etc.

BAKED GOODS: Dirty Apron and Ozark Natural Breads are selling online this week. Celi Bakes has amazing gluten free items that taste wonderful to everyone!

LOCAL MEAT: Consider local meat for your your winter table— beef, beefalo, chicken, lamb and pork available online this week.

VEGAN/VEGETARIAN: Bartleby’s has locally made seitan products for tasty plant based options.

OTHER GOOD THINGS AVAILABLE: local honey, locally made salsa and hot sauce, locally handcrafted items.

It’s “hungry month,” that time of year when any crops planted to overwinter have either run out or given up and it’s too early for any new crops. Fortunately, Foothills Market still has a few produce offerings, as well as meats, sweet spreads and baked goods to help get through this “hungry” stretch.

Browse the market for our offerings, and place your order between now and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. for pickup on Thursday.

Dothan, Alabama:  M@D Update From Your Friendly Local Farmer Friends

WHAT A WINTER! We had no idea when we shut down for our regular winter break that things would get crazy and push our plans back. But life does happen and good or bad, it goes on for us to make the best of!

Several bits of news – we recently met with some of our M@D vendors for a brainstorming session about ways to improve the Market as we move forward. Some things may be obvious, others not so much, but we do have a plan of attack to serve you better. One thing that came up in conversation that everyone agreed on is that we will NOT lower our standards just to attract more sellers to our market. This means that even if we remain small, which we never wanted to be “big” anyway, we will always offer the best quality local foods available.

The second bit of news is that our spring schedule is in place. It is shown below and is on the home page of marketatdothan.com.

You should know that Dothan Nurseries has several spring events planned starting February 15 which is the day M@D will open this year. It’s a bit early to know which of our vendors can participate that day but we will notify you as early as possible for these events and hope you’ll come out and support both M@D and Dothan Nurseries. They have been super gracious to host us these many years and we are excited to see what they have planned.
