Update Growers News:
New Update from:
Sow’s Ear Piggery: We’ve added 4 Pork Chop Packages, Blade Steak (1-inch Shoulder Cuts) and rendered lard. Also, s stewards of the land, we are collecting natural deadfall and offering kindling bundles of ash and oak, great for Autumn get-togethers around a fire!
Calico Farm: Tailgating season is in full swing and our nuts are the perfect, portable snack. Sold in 10 oz resealable bags, we have 5 varieties to suit every palette: Cinnamon sugared pecans, sweet & spicy pecans, Ben’s buttered pecans and herbed roasted mixed nuts & our extra spicy variety of the same recipe (just more cayenne pepper). The mixed nuts contain almonds, pecans, cashews and pistachios – yep, all the good ones – and a unique blend of tarragon, rosemary, a touch of dark brown sugar, sea salt , grass fed butter & cayenne. Pretty sure you’ll never find this one anywhere else!
No tailgate is complete without salsa either, so try our mild jalapeno or medium habanero varieties, depending on how much heat you prefer. Both are made with tomatoes from Servant Farms in Watertown as well as from our very own garden! Both are all organic & canned in 1 oz pints.
Safe & Sound Soap Co. I have added a new product to my inventory, my Relaxing Magnesium Spray. If you haven’t heard about the benefits of using magnesium daily, I’m here to tell you, it’s a life changer! Magnesium helps relieve stress, muscle aches, joint pain, and aids in helping you get a good nights rest. I feel so much better since I started using magnesium every day, and this spray is makes doing that even easier. I recommend using it at night. Spray on your wrists and the bottoms of your feet right before bed. I noticed changes in my sleep and restfullness after using it for one week.
Also I have a quick update regarding my laundry soaps. I have added vegetable glycerin to my formula and it has helped reduce separation, as well as adding a slight amount of thickness to the soap so that it’s easier to pour now. Vegetable glycerin is an all natural thickener and surfactant. It’s safe for sensitive skin, and safe for HE washing machines. However I always let my customers know when I make any changes to my products. Don’t forget about my Laundry Booster powder, Sugar scrubs, and Room sprays. These are all an excellent addition to your daily routines.
NashPhilly: We have a new dip to present this week to the market. It’s a spinach and artichoke dip with Italian herbs, Italian cheeses and garlic.
Soup of the week will be butternut squash soup. I will have these available on the side table when you pick up, on our menu the following weekend. We will also have minestrone.
This week I wanted to highlight a very special sandwich. The Philly cheesesteak. Though we are pretty far away from Philadelphia you can still taste two of their most prized meals right here at our market. Try our NashPhilly Cheesesteak served with ribeye meat, homemade garlic cheese sauce, and your choice of onions, bell peppers, or mushrooms. We also have the lesser known but equally tasty South Philly Roast Pork Sandwich. With sautéd spinach greens and provolone cheese. With slow roasted pork shoulder cooked with Italian herbs, tons of onions and garlic, and fresh lemon juice.
Rainbow Hill: Apples this week Ambrosia, Fuji, Gala, Honeycrisp, Jonagold, Mutsu, Red Delicious, Rhode Island Greening, Yellow Delicious.
Trinity Rose Micro Dairy: (Please return your jars, thank you!) We are enjoying making our milks and keifer for you but we are loosing money on jars and if we have to continue buying new jars we will have to charge jar deposit. Thank you very much for your consideration.
WildFlour: Sourdough bread, Cinnamon rolls, Muffins and Cookies. I pride myself on quality products made with care. Appreciate clean jars returned.
I proud also produce Gluten Free Sourdough Bread and Cinnamon Rolls- a rarity in the area!
Quarter Spring Farm: we have full freezers and we need your help emptying them out. We have dropped prices on a few of our pasture-raised chicken cuts like the bag of bones (great for stock) and the chicken livers (tons of iron, great for you). We will have all of our lamb cuts, and some goat meat available starting next week. As usual, we have our splendid selection of skin-softening soaps, shampoos, and lotions available.
Sadie Brooke Farm: Their Family Farm is located in Readyville, TN where we raise Black Angus Cattle and grow garden fresh Vegetables and fruits. Also have fresh Bacon, Ham and sausage. We have homemade canned goods and offer homemade baked goods such as custom cakes, cupcakes, pies, dipped strawberries and bread and Kombucha Beverages.
Flying S Farms: We have a large selection of produce along with newly added fall produce! Thank you everyone who has followed Ben’s progress – having great reports and he’ll be back to ‘normal’ soon! Only Sour Dough Breads available this week.
